Dubya resume

I was going to title this page "In Praise of President George W. Bush", but I didn't see any reason to have an empty page in the website.

I am a lifelong Republican. And a libertarian (in contrast to a Libertarian). I believe in Fiscal Restraint, a Balanced Budget, a Strong National Defense, and Liberty and Justice for ALL (someday maybe the last will happen, maybe not).

Anyway, I don't think much of Dubya. I think we will be paying for voting him into office for years to come (don't try to weasel out of the responsibility with that weak "I Voted For WhoSits". Did you give WhoSits money? Did you walk the streets passing out literature for WhoSits? Did you do everything in your power to get WhoSits elected? If you didn't do those things then you DID vote for Dubya in an indirect way). Some of the comments on this page may seem a little harsh. But I think that guy is a pox on America. Rumor has it that he told somebody "god wants me to be president". If that is the case, I'm pretty convinced we have fallen into disfavor with whoever's voice Dubya was referring to when he said that.

I have total and utter respect for those folks who still drive around with "W" stickers and the like on their cars. They have the character of their convictions, and that's good I guess.

Ode To Dubya

A rollicking little ditty in praise of our 43rd President
Print it out and read it. It would look good in the bottom of a bird cage.

I amuse myself with the Ode and the Gif, but the one below doesn't amuse me quite as much. Yes, I've heard all the spin, but these are the numbers, raw and prespin. You decide.
"As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself -- not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch. As a matter of fact, the Colonel asked if I needed first aid when she first saw me. I was able to avoid any major surgical operations here, but thanks for your compassion, Colonel." --George W. Bush, after visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 1, 2006
The Total Outstanding Public Debt (net accumulation of deficits and surpluses) as of 12 Feb 2007 is $8,719,732,035,111.06. Hmmm . . . Let's see . . . that is . . . $8 trillion and change. The estimated population of the United States is 300,943,400 so each citizen's share of this debt is $28,974.66. Acccording to the article linked below ("Taming The Deficit"), each U.S. Families share of the INTEREST on the debt is about $1,600.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $1.57 billion per day since September 29, 2006! Concerned? What? Me Worry?

"Taming the Deficit"

Remember the "Alfred E. Neuman for President" bumper stickers? Not so funny now, is it! Ha!
I felt sorry for Bernie Ebbers when he got busted. And for Martha Stewart. Particularly Martha. She was just the "Justice" Department Poster Criminal for Corporate Crimes - she got busted for a $250,000 stock transaction (insider trading) while most of the other players were pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars. Oh, well, such is American Life. So, if these guys have to do hard time, why not Dick, Dopn and Dubya? Why are Dick, Don and Dubya exempt from criminal prosecution after they have, beyond a reasonable doubt, lied to The People of The United States of America regarding the reasons for going to War in Iraq in 2003?

Help Me Understand

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Did he really say this? >>>> http://www.snopes.com/quotes/goering.htm

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Did Ben franklin write this? It doesn't really matter, it certainly strikes me as Absolutely True. It is usually attributed to him.
